A four-points memorandum to RTM

On 19 May, the Centre for Independent Journalism (CIJ), Writers Alliance for Media Independence (WAMI) and 528 Media Action Group presented a memorandum to Radio and Television Malaysia (RTM) after it suspended the contract of producer Chow Z Lam, who revealed that his documentary on the people affected by Bakun Dam was taken off air.

The contract of Chow Z Lam, the producer of the recently axed Bakun dam documentary was terminated by RTM on 13 May. In the following joint statement, civil societies demanded for public inquiry and invited members of the public to join force on 28 May to protest political interference and censorship in the media industry.
