China: Journalist Shi Tao found guilty PDF Print E-mail

On 11 March 2005, dissident journalist Shi Tao appeared before the state prosecutor in the southern city of Changsha in a secret, two-hour hearing and was found guilty of "illegally divulging state secrets abroad". RSF has voiced outrage at the travesty of justice in Shi's case.

Bangladesh: Journalists receive death threats PDF Print E-mail

Three journalists in the southeastern city of Chittagong received letters containing death threats from a group identifying itself as the student wing of the fundamentalist Jamaat-e-Islami Party. Journalists Sumi Khan, Samaresh Baidya, and Jubayer Siddiqui each received similar letters within three days of one another, Baidya told CPJ.
